1986 The Chesley Awards – Official Name Change – None Given
1986 saw the death of Chesley Bonestell, which so affected the science fiction and fantasy artistic community that ASFA renamed The ASFA Awards in his honor. Mr. Bonestell was a significant contributor to science and science-fiction illustration as well as his influence on space exploration. No awards were given out this year. This is the only year ASFA has declined giving out awards, as of this writing [May, 2014 -ed.].
